Assessment
With a background in research, assessment, and education, Dr. Light conducts
various types of assessments to meet the needs of Individuals. Her expertise
includes test batteries which can assess for intellectual, emotional,
psychological, and educational matters. As one of few professionals
expert in assessing and identifying giftedness, Dr. Light provides expertise in evaluating children
for giftedness with the unique
perspective of looking at potential as well as concomitant issues.
Counseling
Dr. Light helps families better understand and nurture themselves as well as
their children's development. Parents can learn about their own giftedness
and gain greater self-awareness. She provides individual, family, and
group psychotherapy, as well as parent information groups.
Dr. Light is also experienced in promoting the emotional growth of women and
young adults in developing their potential. As a Registered Nurse, she is
skilled in working with the emotional and physical needs common to females. She
provides counseling, therapeutic understanding and guidance. Dr. Light promotes
the personal, professional and academic improvement of women of all ages.
Presentation and Consultation
Dr Light is interested in disseminating information and educating others. In
addition to her university involvement, she provides consultation to schools and
other professionals. She also offers speaking engagements and presentations to
parents, teachers and administrators on a number of topics.
