ON A PERSONAL NOTE

My own journey for meaning has influenced my interest in the importance of developing human potential. While working in the medical field, I noticed the great interplay between emotional, mental and physical well-being and have dedicated myself to working with all aspects of the individual.

As a mother of a gifted child, I found that there was a lack of readily-available information on the special needs of gifted children. My child did not exhibit the typical behaviors as she developed, and I had difficulty finding the support and resources needed to parent her effectively. While in graduate school, I decided to initiate my own research and ultimately completed my doctoral dissertation on the topic of assessing giftedness in children.

The rest, as they say, is history. It is with great passion that I assist adults and children in their journeys. I approach my practice in both a personal and professional manner because the two cannot be separated. Assisting gifted children, as well as helping their parents, is extremely fulfilling. Each day, I am afforded the opportunity to interact with such special individuals.

I have been both keynote speaker and seminar leader at women's growth retreats and workshops in the United States and Mexico. My education and training emphasizes counseling people of various nationalities, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. I volunteer my time teaching classes for children and teens, and helping underprivileged individuals in the United States and abroad.
